5K Thai Style

Well I didn't get to do the Thanksgiving Day race since I was in Thailand but I did get to do the Trat Thailand Change for Good 5K!  What an experience!

Everyone wore their shirts, it was a sea of yellow.  The bibs were a thick rubbery fabric.  The food afterward was all Thai cuisine.

Pub Runs, Winter Running and 2020 Goals

We are still doing the pub runs and running better all the time.

I'm already registered for four races in 2020.

I did the MoJo Donut Fun run with Stacey, Jennifer and Denise.  I'm so excited to be back with the group again and plan to start attending every Saturday morning after the first of the year.  The group meets at Crossfit Coalition in Fairfield and is a little closer.

And I plan to train for a half marathon to run Spring 2020.

Hudy 7K and Brew Hog Status with Cartoon

I love this race for so many reasons.  It is the final leg of the Beer Series which means Brew Hog Status.  It is "the race that thinks its a party."  The band is one I really like named "Just Add Beer."

We did it and we have the mugs to prove it!  And I'm all signed up for the series next year!

Oxford Pub Runs

Oxford Visitors Bureau (ExploreOxford.org) started something new, the Oxford Pub Run.  With the promise of a shirt after attending 10 runs, we were in!

The runs start at a local bar, initially Left Field Tavern, and run down College Avenue, left on Chestnut, left on Patterson, left on High, back to the bar for drink specials!  (Since then it has moved to Books & Brews.)

The first night we attending there was a big surprise, shirts for everyone!

As with weeks continued, life got in the way but when the "10 time" tech shirts came in, I returned to finish my last couple races.

Now it is my Tuesday night activity and I love it.

Redlegs Run 2019

This was my 7th year to run in the Redlegs Run.  It looked like it could rain but the weather turned out nice.  Cartoon and I ran the entire race which always makes us feel successful.

Sonia ran in the Little Gapper for the second year.  She was so excited she couldn't sleep last night.  Sadly, with all the other parents in the way taking picture/videos, she stumbled and fell, scraping her knee pretty badly.  Hopefully she will give it a try next year.

Cincinnati Race Weekend - Beer Series & Flying Pig

The Fifty West Mile (formerly the Little Kings Mile)
This was leg two of the Brew Hog beer series.  Since it was the night before the Flying Pig 5K we spent the night in Cincinnati.  Andy missed the race because they took the kids to the Reds game.  Cartoon and I had a great time!

Flying Pig 5K
I always wanted to do this race and it did not disappoint.  The downtown route was different than other races we have been in.  Cartoon and I ran the whole 5K and though our time was slower than we hoped, we felt good about conquering the hilly route.

Shamrock Shuffle 2019 - My 7th consecutive year

We were so excited to see there was going to be a medal this year!  And we love the shirts!  They look black but are actually navy blue.  And what a surprise that my Facebook Memories picture was my first race and first Shamrock Shuffle in 2013.

Jody, Nik, Cartoon and I ran together and Cartoon and I finished at about the same time.  Her PR and first race to run the entire 5K!  (It is always best with Jody coaching us to keep running, run slower, finish strong.)

Sonya ran the Leprechaun Lap and was faster than a lot of the 5 year olds, even with her sore toe.
